Lyman Allyn Window (artist: Louis Comfort Tiffany, installed 1910)
This window depicts the Holy Family. The lantern held by the young Jesus alludes to Psalm 119.105 "Your word is a lantern to my feet * and a light upon my path.", as well as to the John 8.12: "Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the
light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.’ " The lamb he holds in his arm forshadows his role as the sacrificial lamb.
Joseph works at his carpentry trade, while the Blessed Virgin Mary looks on and "treasured all these things
in her heart."
Located on the north transept, it is backlit with diffuse light.
